Jenny Lord and Vicky Eribo have been promoted to executive publishers at Orion from their previous roles as publisher at W&N and publisher at Seven Dials respectively.
The promotions mark the creation of three autonomous "publishing centres", with Lord overseeing Orion’s literary publishing, Eribo leading commercial non-fiction and Sarah Benton already in the role of executive publisher of the commercial fiction lists at Orion Fiction and Gollancz.
Alongside White Rabbit publisher Lee Brackstone and Phoenix publisher Francesca Main, Lord will lead the strategic growth of Orion’s literary publishing. She joined W&N in 2016, and took the helm as publisher in 2019.
Eribo, together with Orion Spring publisher Pippa Wright and Trapeze editorial directors Sareeta Domingo and new arrival Katie Packer, will “supercharge Orion’s commercial non-fiction output in addition to continuing to publish personality-led and platform-driven titles for the Seven Dials list, an imprint she has transformed since taking over in 2019,” the publisher says.
She joined Orion from HarperCollins and in her three years heading Seven Dials she has been responsible for streamlining commissioning, publishing the likes of the Hairy Bikers, Vinnie Jones and more.
Managing director Anna Valentine said: “These appointments mark an exciting new phase in Orion’s evolution as we look to our next phase of growth. Jenny and Vicky are smart, ambitious and dynamic publishers and they have delivered transformational change for the imprints they are responsible for, yet they wear it all modestly. They will both play a crucial role in taking the business forward and I’m delighted to be able to recognise the important part they have played in Orion’s success with these richly deserved promotions.”
