Quadrille will publish Ovie Soko's debut, You Are Dope.
Soko rose to fame on the 2019 series of ITV's "Love Island", becoming well known for his positivity on the series and making it to the final of the show.
Publishing director Sarah Lavelle and Susannah Otter acquired world rights from Lauren Gardner at Bell Lomax Moreton, on behalf of Mokkingbird Talent Management. The title will be published 1st October 2020.
Audible acquired audio rights from Gardner, also on behalf of Mokkingbird.
In You Are Dope, Soko sets out his "manifesto for positive personal change". He wants to "encourage people to respect themselves and others, find their way to peace, make the most of every day and embrace the future in an increasingly challenging world".
The author commented: "I can’t wait to publish my first book this October! I truly believe that You Are Dope is going to help so many people and bring about some important conversations. I’m really excited to be working with the team at Quadrille and to see my ideas come to life."
Lavelle added: "Ovie possesses a wit, wisdom and warmth beyond his years, and we’re looking forward to working with him to spread his positive message far and wide. You Are Dope is going to be beautiful and inspiring ‚Äì a unique book from an important new voice."
