Lucy Brem has been promoted to commissioning editor at Pan Fiction.
Since joining Pan Fiction in spring 2023 as editor, Brem has worked on some of the imprint’s leading brand authors, including global number one bestsellers Danielle Steel and Lucinda Riley. She has also been building her own commercial fiction list, commissioning across romance, general fiction and cosy fantasy.
Brem began her publishing career in 2019 in sales at Orion, before making the switch to editorial. In September, Brem will publish Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood, her first acquisition for Pan Fiction with world volume rights acquired in a two-book deal directly from the author; it has sold in seven territories so far.
Katie Loughnane, publishing director at Pan Fiction, said: "Lucy is a smart, thoughtful and creative editor and acquirer, who has contributed a huge amount to Pan Fiction over the past year. She is a joy to work with and I am looking forward to seeing what this next stage in her career will bring."
Brem said: "I’m thrilled to be taking a step up at Pan Fiction. Our list has been going from strength to strength, and I can’t wait to build on that success, continuing work with my brilliant current authors and discovering new and exciting commercial fiction voices to publish."
The promotion is effective from 1st August, with Brem continuing to report to Loughnane.
