Lucy Frazer, conservative MP for South East Cambridgeshire, has been named the UK’s new Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport in a restyled department.
She succeeds Michelle Donelan, who was Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, who takes the "Digital" of her former brief to her new role of Secretary of State for the newly created department of Science, Innovation & Technology.
Frazer was elected in 2015 and most recently was minister for Housing and Planning. Previous roles include Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice, Solicitor General and Minister of State at the Ministry of Justice.
In prime minister Rishi Sunak’s reshuffle Grant Shapps has also been made Secretary of State for the new Energy Security & Net Zero department; Kemi Badendock, Secretary of State for Business and Trade; and Greg Hands, Minister without Portfolio in the Cabinet Office.
