Liverpool University Press is partnering with Northcote House Publishers for publication of the series Writers and their Work.
LUP takes on responsibility for over 400 backlist titles and a frontlist of around 10 new books a year. The partnership will also see the titles digitised and systematically available as e-books, many for the first time.
The Writers and their Work series was launched in 1994 in association with the British Council, consisting of "brief but rigorous" critical examinations of the work of distinguished writers - including the canonical figures of literature and many popular late-20th century writers - and schools of writing.
LUP m.d. Anthony Cond said: "Across almost 25 years, Writers and Their Work has developed an enviable list of tightly-focused books that are widely used by students of literary studies in both universities and schools. Moreover, the series includes among its authors some of the leading literary critics of the past quarter of a century."
Northcote House m.d. Brian Hulme said LUP was "very well placed to enhance and expand" the series.
Titles in the series will be distributed through LUP's usual channels, with Turpin Distribution handling the UK.
The new partnership follows on from previously announced partnerships with the Voltaire Foundation and the Littman Library of Jewish Civilisation.
