Maddalena Cavaciuti has been promoted to agent at David Higham Associates (DHA).
Having joined the company in 2017 to assist agent Lizzy Kremer, Cavaciuti has helped run DHA’s Open Days for Under-Represented Writers since the events began in 2019.
In her new role, Cavaciuti is building a list of commercial fiction, centred on women’s fiction, romance, romantasy, crime, thriller and mystery. Her early clients include Rachel Greenlaw, who secured deals with HQ in the UK and Avon in the US for her adult fiction, and whose YA fantasy debut Compass and Blade was published last month as the lead title on HarperFire’s launch list. Rob Parker – whose book The River Man, narrated by Dominic West is publishing at the end of this month with Audible Original – is also Cavaciuti’s client.
Kremer said: "Mads is not only the hungriest and cleverest reader of plot-driven fiction one could hope for in an agent but also incredibly numerate and curious about the business as a whole and offers me fantastic strategy support in my roles as agent and as m.d. I’m grateful every day to work with her – seeing her build her own incredible list of authors is a thrill for all of her fans at DHA and beyond.”
