Maia Snow has joined The Bookseller as news editor. She succeeds Alice Kemp-Habib, who has moved to The World of Interiors.
Snow has spent her career until now as a news journalist, having worked for newspapers across the UK. She was previously the world news editor at the Daily Express, content editor at local news website MyLondon and a news reporter at the Leicester Mercury and the Nottingham Post.
Outside work, she has mentored journalism students at her alumnus university, and regularly returns to give lectures on court reporting and media law.
She reports to editor Philip Jones, and joins deputy news editor Heloise Wood and news journalists Melina Spanoudi and Matilda Battersby on the news desk.
Snow said: "I am delighted to be joining The Bookseller’s team and enter the world of publishing. I’ve always been a big reader, so this really feels like a dream job to be working at such a brilliant publication. It’s a definite left turn from general news, but I am excited to get stuck in and learn everything about the industry."
Jones said: "I’m so pleased Maia has joined so quickly after Alice was tempted away—the combination of news experience and book enthusiasm will serve the magazine well."
