The Man Booker Prize is running a competition for independent bookshops with a cash prize of £1,000 around the six-strong prize shortlist, to be announced on 20th September.
Indies are being encouraged to make an "eye-catching" window display using the official shortlist materials from a pack - which includes bookmarks, sticker sheets, a shelf talker for each of the books and an A4 poster - which can be ordered in advance by emailing Kate.Klevit@fourcommunications.com by the end of this week (Friday 7th September).
Booksellers should take a picture of the display, share on social media with the hashtag #ManBookerIndies, and email it with their details to Klevit by 31st October. The Man Booker Prize will announce the winner on its social media channels on Tuesday 6th November.
The wide-ranging longlist for this year's £50,000 prize includes Michael Ondaatje, crime writer Belinda Bauer, graphic novelist Nick Drnaso and Irish writer Sally Rooney.
The winner of the 2018 Man Booker Prize will be announced at the Guildhall, London, on 16th October.
