Manchester University Press (MUP) has appointed Michelle Houston as senior commissioning editor for literature, film, and culture.
Houston comes from a background in literary and cultural studies publishing and this role will follow her previous positions at Hachette/Hodder Education and Edinburgh University Press.
Commenting on her new role, Houston said: "I’m honoured to be joining the MUP team and couldn’t be more excited to contribute to such a dynamic and forward-thinking press. I’m looking forward to working together to continue to publish global scholarly research that stimulates conversation, contemplation, and critical thinking.”
Emma Brennan, editorial director at MUP, added: "We have long admired Michelle as a commissioning talent, and we are delighted to welcome her to the MUP team. We look forward to seeing her shape the future direction of a prestigious and well-established list.”
