Manderley Press has appointed Ed Ripley as sales and marketing director, working alongside founder Rebeka Russell.
Ripley began his role this month, after leaving Walker Books where he was marketing and publicity director for more than 10 years. Ripley joined Walker Books in 2013 as UK sales and marketing director. Prior to this he was head of sales for children’s books at Pan Macmillan for a 10 years, working across both adult and children’s sales. Ripley was also UK sales director for Murdoch Books.
In his new role, Ripley will develop and enhance the sales and marketing strategy at Manderley Press. His focus will be on "cementing strong relationships with indie and chain bookshops across the UK and Ireland, and implementing innovative marketing strategies to drive sales across the entire list".
Russell founded Manderley Press in 2021, and the publisher finds forgotten books that were inspired by a building, city or landmark, and "brings those lost titles back to life for a contemporary audience".
He said: "I am very happy to be working with Rebeka at Manderley Press on a list of beautiful books which have a clear and proven commercial appeal."
Russell said: “Ed’s appointment as sales and marketing director marks a significant milestone in the evolution of our company, and of our marketing strategy as a whole. He brings with him a wealth of skills and experience from some of the leading independent publishers in the UK and is the perfect match for our list."
