Marilia Savvides has left 42 Management & Production to set up The Plot Agency — a boutique literary agency with a "global vision".
All of her clients will join her at The Plot Agency, including Jessica Moor, Eleanor Morton, Lauren Brown and Natasha Bell. Also joining her for book representation are Henry Lewis, Hanna Jameson, Jack Anderson and Paul Bradley Carr, who will still be represented by 42 for screenwriting and film/TV rights.
Savvides began her career in publishing at Peters Fraser + Dunlop (PFD), where she was first an international rights agent representing and selling translation rights across the agency’s client list. She later worked as a literary agent at PFD, building her own list of authors.
Savvides joined 42 as a literary agent in 2019, and over four years she helped launch and set up the Book Division alongside Eugenie Furniss and Emily MacDonald. She was selected as a Bookseller Rising Star in 2018, and was also a returning member of the faculty at the Columbia Publishing Course at Oxford University.
Most recently she sold North American rights in Paul Bradley Carr’s debut thriller, The Confessions, to Atria, in a six-figure deal, and to Robyn Delvey’s The Seven and Sherry Rankin’s The Hare’s Mask— both to Thomas & Mercer.
“I am thrilled to begin this exciting new chapter with all my wonderful authors on board," Savvides said. "At The Plot Agency, we specialise in books that feel universal and undeniable, and we’re committed to keeping storytellers at the heart of everything we do. We’re launching with a promise to centre and champion our writers, with a view to reach publishers and readers all over the world, and to make sure that we always protect our authors’ rights in the process.”
