Martina Arzu is to join Head of Zeus as commissioning editor, working within its commercial fiction imprints Aria (women’s fiction) and Aries (crime and thriller).
Arzu started her publishing career at Penguin Random House, working in the rights department. In 2019 she joined Bookouture, where she is currently publishing executive, working on authors including Catherine Miller and Carly Schabowski.
In her new role at Head of Zeus, as well as acquiring new titles, she will also be taking over as editor on authors such as Heather Burnside, Marina McCarron, Emma Pass and Lesley Eames.
Commenting on her new role, Arzu said: "I feel extremely grateful for my time at Bookouture and what it has taught me about discovering and publishing record-breaking fiction at its best. Although I will miss my colleagues and authors greatly, I can’t wait to join Aria to work on an incredibly exciting list and be part of their passionate and creative editorial team."
Head of Zeus publishing director Laura Palmer said: "Martina impressed the whole team from the moment we opened her application, and I am thrilled that she will soon be bringing her brilliant genre publishing knowledge to bear on the Aria and Aries lists."
