Lyndsey Mayhew is leaving Welbeck to join non-fiction book publicity agency The Book Publicist as associate director.
Mayhew joins the company, based in Hay-on-Wye, with a background spanning more than 20 years of working with the media and a specialism in lifestyle and wellbeing publishing.
She makes the move from Welbeck, where she looked after marketing for non-fiction. Prior to that, Mayhew led the sales and marketing team at Trigger Publishing.
In the newly created role she will join a team of 10 publicists. Working with directors Ella and Matt Davidson, she will be focusing on the needs of publishers as well as rolling out new services including a post-launch PR package, social media management, author podcast creation and influencer campaigns.
Ella Davidson, founder and director of The Book Publicist, said: “It is an exciting time for our agency as we continue to grow our services to help publishers and authors. Lyndsey’s passion for digital, in-house publisher experience and customer-focused values will be key in our aim to offer packages that deliver transparency and creativity, hard-hitting results and brilliant publisher care, focusing on better communication to boost book sales and author satisfaction.”
Mayhew added: “I am thrilled to be joining such a talented team of publicists and a company with brilliant plans for the future. I have always been so impressed with the results The Book Publicist has delivered for a wide range of books and experts. It's a wonderful opportunity for me to bring my experiences in publishing and help move the business to the next level.”
