Debbie McNally and Kirsty Bradbury will join the sales team at HarperCollins in two newly created senior roles with plans for McNally to "seek out new opportunites" and Bradbury to contribute to the publisher's "ambitious growth strategy for children's business".
McNally, who specialises in business development and non- traditional sales, will join the company as non-trade sales director on 8th April. She has worked for much of her career at Penguin Random House, recently consulting for the Ebury division. McNally will report to group sales director, Anna Derkacz.
“After two rewarding and enjoyable years working freelance with the wonderful people at Ebury Enterprises, I am thrilled to be moving to an in- house role and joining the HarperCollins sales team,” said McNally. “I look forward to building on current success and bringing their remarkable publishing to the non-traditional market. It's a fantastic opportunity to work with some of the industry's most talented individuals and high profile brands.”
Derkacz said: “Debbie brings with her a wealth of experience and expertise as well as a great passion for books. She will be an outstanding addition to the sales team and will lead the non-trade team as it seeks out exciting new opportunities and channels. I am delighted Debbie has agreed to join us at HarperCollins and can’t wait for her to start.”
Bradbury, a specialist in children’s publishing, will join in late Spring as children’s UK sales director with a dual reporting line to Ann-Janine Murtagh, executive publisher HarperCollins Children’s Books and Derkacz.
Bradbury previously headed up the Penguin children’s sales team and has worked at Parragon, Nickelodeon, Penguin Random House Children’s and most recently Carlton.
Murtagh said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to welcome Kirsty to the children’s team. Her new role will be key to an ambitious growth strategy for our children’s business − driving sales and pioneering new revenue streams for our brands and authors as we navigate a future landscape full of opportunities. Kirsty brings a wealth of commercial experience and most significantly a genuine passion for children’s books.”
Bradbury added: “I am incredibly excited to be joining HarperCollins and the children’s team. HarperCollins Children’s Books have an embarrassment of riches in their portfolio and I can’t wait to work with Ann-Janine, Anna and the wider teams to build upon future growth plans with such leading global brands and fantastic authors, in tandem with our sales teams and retailers.”
