A memorial service to celebrate the life of publisher and bookseller John Calder will be held at the Free Word Centre, Farringdon Road, London on Friday 9th November.
The service will take place from 6.30 to 8.30pm, and those who would like to attend are asked to email sheila.bailey@pen-international.org, as space is limited.
Calder, who set up Calder Publications , and also ran The Calder Bookshop & Theatre in London, died in August at the age of 91.
He was described as "a towering figure in the fight against censorship and the dissemination of international literature and culture in the UK,” by Alessandro Gallenzi, publisher of Alma Books.
