Ebury’s Mia Oakley has been appointed senior marketing executive at Dialogue in a newly created role within the communications team.
Reporting to head of marketing Emily Moran, Oakley will join on 3rd June, working across the Renegade and Dialogue Books imprints and supporting across the full spectrum of the division’s publishing as they head into this next phase of growth.
Oakley is an award-winning marketer with an expertise in audience development and data insight. She has been at Ebury since 2020, leading campaigns for Sunday Times bestselling authors Meliz Berg, Aliyah Umm Raiyaan and Fraser Reynolds. Oakley also led Colour[Full], the publisher’s employee network for Black, Asian and marginalised communities, feeding into its diversity and inclusion policy and "taking the organisation from strength to strength as its longest running chair".
Moran said: “I’d already been impressed by Mia’s work from afar but during the interview process we were dazzled by the passion, creativity and potential she demonstrated. From her work on Colour[Full] to her varied and successful campaign experience so far, Mia has showcased her clear commitment to inclusion and her work and outlook is all the more nuanced as a result.
“I can’t wait to watch her unleash her talent across our list and supercharge our marketing offering across the board. I am so looking forward to working with her.”
Oakley said: “I’m so thrilled to be joining Dialogue. Their commitment to championing underrepresented voices is one of the main reasons I joined the industry in the first place. While I feel sad to be leaving Ebury and Colour[Full] behind, I am excited about this next step and the opportunity to work alongside the creative powerhouses Emily Moran and Sharmaine Lovegrove.
“Dialogue publishes the books I wish I had growing up and the chance to be a part of an industry-leading collective with innovation, inclusion and inspiration at its heart was not one to miss.”
