Michelle Signore is joining Simon & Schuster UK in the newly created role of deputy publishing director of imprint Gallery, reporting to adult non-fiction publishing director Holly Harris. She will lead the list into the personal development and lifestyle space for the first time.
Signore is moving to the new role from Bonnier Books UK, where she has been editorial director for Lagom. Over three years at Lagom, she published Kate Silverton’s There’s Still No Such Thing as Naughty, Kate Garraway’s The Strength of Love, and Professor Rose Anne Kenny’s Age Proof, which was shortlisted for the Royal Society Science Book Prize, among others. Prior to working at Lagom, she was editorial director at Transworld, where she worked for 10 years.
"I’m so thrilled Michelle is joining us to take Gallery into a whole new market," Harris said. "We launched the imprint three years ago with the aim of building a carefully curated list of bestsellers and to become the destination publisher for British entertainment publishing. Now we have found our feet in that area of the market, this appointment is a strategic one to take us into the lifestyle and personal development space."
Signore added: "I have had the most wonderful three years at Bonnier and it’s been a joy to head the Lagom imprint. I am, of course, incredibly sad to be leaving behind wonderful authors and colleagues. But this opportunity to join Holly and the impressive team at Gallery was just too tempting to pass up. I am hugely excited to start working with them and to help them build their publishing in the lifestyle space."
Signore will start in the new position on 17th June 2024, and can be contacted at michelle.signore@simonandschuster.co.uk from that date.
