Culture communications agency Midas has announced a raft of senior promotions, with Amelia Knight stepping up to deputy managing director, Fiona Marsh promoted to director of new business, Edwina Boyd-Gibbins promoted to director and Anna Zanetti rising to account director.
As deputy m.d., Knight will work closely with Midas c.e.o. Jason Bartholomew and co-deputy m.d., Georgina Moore, in setting the strategic direction for the business, overseeing management and operational activities while heading communications planning across a wide range of Midas clients.
Having spent 18 years at Midas, Knight has worked with many of the agency’s biggest and longest-standing clients, including The London Book Fair, the FT Business Book of the Year Award, Private Eye, OUP, Bloomsbury, Profile Books, Little, Brown, Octopus, Ebury and Head of Zeus among many others.
Leading new business at Midas, Marsh will continue her work to grow the agency, with recent new client wins including Affordable Art Fair, “Strictly” star Dianne Buswell, social media baking star Matt Adlard, US publisher Union Square and children’s book festival BookTastic. With a background in publishing, Marsh joined Midas in 2009 following 25 years at HarperCollins promoting high-profile non-fiction and children’s authors including Sir David Attenborough, Prince Philip, Ian Botham and Michael Bond.
Promoted to director, Boyd-Gibbins has worked across many of Midas’ key accounts since joining the agency in 2015. Leading the UK launch of Bookshop.org in 2020 her campaign was nominated for four PR awards, including the CIPR Awards, PRCA DARE Awards and PR Moment Awards, and her wider campaigns have received special mentions at the PPC and FutureBook Awards.
Zanetti has risen from Midas trainee to account director in under five years, and has received special mentions at the PPC and PRCA Awards. Passionate about literacy and reading, she is also one of two Young Trustees of The London Library.
Bartholomew said: “In the five years since I joined Midas the business has undergone many exciting changes, adapting to the ever-changing cultural landscape, yet always staying true to the values that have sustained the company since it was founded over 30 years ago. Amelia, Fiona, Edwina and Anna have each grown with the business and our clients during that time and I’m delighted to congratulate them on their highly deserved promotions.
“Amelia has proven herself to be adept at inspiring and managing staff, winning new business, developing loyal client relationships, and she has an astute understanding in the finances of the business. Amelia will work alongside Georgina Moore as we continue to expand the business in new directions and consolidate our position as the UK’s leading independent books and arts communications agency.
“Fiona has been at Midas for 14 years and is the backbone to the Midas new business arm. Her dedication to the company and our staff knows no bounds and it’s a pleasure to recognise Fiona’s tremendous efforts with this promotion.
“Edwina’s well-deserved promotion follows her deft management of many of the agency’s top tier clients. Over her career at Midas, aside from her PR skills, Edwina has proven to be a fantastic mentor and manager to staff members, and her calm focus has proven invaluable to clients no matter the challenge.
“Anna is a true Midas rising star and it has been so gratifying seeing her grow and fulfil her huge potential. Anna has delivered fantastic results for some of our key clients, with one author saying that Anna’s PR campaign for her book changed her life – and I’m sure it won’t be the last time!”
