Midas communications has announced it will expand into America, having appointed Katharine Myers as deputy managing director of Midas US.
Myers has 25 years of experience and joins Midas from Little, Brown, where she was senior director of publicity.
She handled public relations (PR) for Literacy Partners while at Rubenstein Associates and served on the board of Housing Works Bookstore in New York City.
Myers said: “I’m beyond thrilled to join the team and bring the expertise and collaborative PR experience that Midas is known for in the US.”
In her new role, she will continue to work with Little, Brown authors Elin Hilderbrand and Amir Tibon, as well as Dutton author Michael Joseph Gross.
Jason Bartholomew, c.e.o of Midas, said: “Since I started at Midas in 2018, we’ve regularly had UK clients ask if Midas could handle their US PR. Originally, we’d say no, but Midas started steadily developing relationships with the US media and knowledge of the US market. This allowed us to start building a client list in North America.”
He added: “For Midas US to work, the key would be in making the right hire. We are so thrilled to have found Katharine Myers, whose CV speaks for itself.”
To mark the launch of the US business, Midas has been rebranded to The Midas Group, covering its three businesses: Midas UK, Midas US and The bks Agency.
