Mirror Books has acquired the book behind the Netflix series "The Ted Bundy Tapes" with plans to publish next month.
Ajda Vucicevic, senior commissioning editor at the Reach plc imprint, struck a deal for UK and Commonwealth rights from Doris Booth at Authorlink, USA.
Ted Bundy: Conversations with a Killer by Stephen G. Michaud and Hugh Aynesworth will be published on 21st March in both ebook and print formats.
Booth said: "We are thrilled that the outstanding team at Mirror Books recognised the social significance of this book, and will give the work the exposure it deserves in the UK. All of us need to recognise the patterns that lead to heinous crimes by seemingly normal people, and to try to protect those we love from becoming victims.”
Vucicevic added: "We have been overwhelmed by the level of support from the retail trade. Stephen and Hugh's book lifts the lid on what was really going on in Ted Bundy's head, and its revelations are as shocking as they are chilling. A must-read for true-crime fans.'
Previously published in the US, the official tie-in to the Netflix series "The Ted Bundy Tapes" was born out of more than 150 hours of interview footage with Bundy himself, recorded days before his execution in a Florida electric chair. The publisher said: “His eleventh-hour confessions provide a horrifying insight into the twisted mind of America's most notorious serial killer.”
