Sophie Missing will join Daunt Books Publishing as editor later this month.
Missing has worked as a freelance editor and writer for the last three and a half years, and co-authored three cookbooks for Penguin Random House imprint Square Peg. Previously she was assistant editor at Fig Tree, Penguin, and an editorial assistant at Hodder & Stoughton.
She will report to publisher Željka Marošević, who described Missing as having “impeccable taste” and as having already worked on an “enviable list of books”.
Marošević, who joined Daunt in 2016 from Melville House, said: “I was so impressed by her passion and ideas, and I’m delighted to be welcoming her to Daunt.”
Missing said: “I’ve admired the imagination and style of the Daunt list since it was first set up, and I couldn’t be more excited to begin working with Željka and the rest of the team.”
Daunt was founded in 2010 to celebrate “brilliant works by talented authors from around the world”.
Missing will start at the Fulham-based publisher on 26th February and can be emailed at at sophie@dauntbooks.co.uk">sophie@dauntbooks.co.uk.
