Sam Missingham, founder of book website Lounge Books, is launching two new workshops for authors on audiobooks and getting published.
With audio expert Jo Forshaw, Missingham will run the first ‘How to Make An Audiobook’ workshop for authors on 27th January in London. The workshop will be a practical step-by-step guide through the audiobook making process.
Attendees will learn what is involved in making their own audiobook, how much it’s going to cost, how to work with retailers and aggregators and how to market and sell it. The programme is available to view here.
The cost of the workshop will be £85 at the early bird rate and then £99 full rate.
Meanwhile, with Jon Reed, counsultant and founder of Publishing Talk, Missingham will run a masterclass on helping writers understand how to get published. The event will be a practical day for writers starting out and will explain the options available to them when trying to get published.
Missingham said the masterclass will "demystify the publishing landscape and equip authors for success". The workshop will see four successful authors talk through their routes to publication and answer delegate questions.
Confirmed speakers include Sharmaine Lovegrove, publisher at Dialogue Books, Little Brown; Keshini Naidoo, associate publisher, Bookouture; Anna Lewis co-founder of Completely Novel; and Lindsey Mooney, vendor manager at Kobo.
