Mitchell Beazley has bagged Chetna's 30 Minute Indian, the fifth book from “Bake Off” star Chetna Makan.
Editorial director Eleanor Maxfield acquired world rights, all languages, direct from the author, for publication on 10th June 2021 in hardback.
The book is the first time the author has focused on quick Indian cooking.
The publisher said: “Chetna’s 30 Minute Indian is packed with quick and delicious Indian meals for time-poor cooks with all the vibrancy and creativity so synonymous with Chetna. Taking inspiration from the eclectic tastes of Indian cuisine, these tempting recipes can all be on the table and ready to eat in less than 30 minutes. Featuring traditional fast snacks, imaginative flatbread recipes, delicious dals, comforting veggie, fish and meat curries, all-in-one rice dishes, surprising raitas and dips as well as indulgent desserts, there are speedy options for every occasion. Chetna’s bestselling books include The Cardamom Trail, Chai, Chaat & Chutney, Chetna’s Healthy Indian and most recently, Chetna’s Healthy Indian Vegetarian.”
Makan reached the semi-final of “The Great British Bake Off” in 2014 and has a popular YouTube channel “Food with Chetna” where she shares her creative flair for food.
She commented: “I am very excited about this book, creating recipes that are stunning yet ready in a short span of time. Playing with many flavours and the timer was an adventure. I really hope that people will give this book a special place in their kitchen.”
Maxfield added: “Octopus is thrilled to celebrate Chetna’s growing success with a fifth cookbook. She’s a joy to publish and her food never fails to excite. These recipes are hearty crowd-pleasers, but are genuinely achievable in 30 minutes – a must-have, all-round collection for every home cook.”
