Elinor Davies has been appointed associate literary agent at the Madeleine Milburn Literary, TV & Film Agency (MMA), working alongside Hannah Todd in the adult fiction department. Meanwhile, Casey Dexter has been appointed as film and TV rights executive, working alongside Hannah Ladds.
Davies joined MMA in 2021 as an assistant, having graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a degree in Publishing Media after a career-change away from holistic therapy. She has been a freelance editor for the Faber Academy and mentors with Asian Women Writers.
Madeleine Milburn said: "Ever since Elinor became a member of the MM team, she has shown every sign of being a brilliant agent in the making. She has talent-spotted a number of clients that have since signed with the agency, and her collaborative approach has benefitted authors and colleagues equally. I’m thrilled to see her continue to grow."
Davies will start accepting submissions on 16th October 2023 and is considering commercial and upmarket fiction including crime, thriller, historical and speculative fiction. She added: "I’m so excited to start building my own list of authors at the Madeleine Milburn Agency. Assisting and learning from all the incredible agents there and being part of such a supportive team these past few years has been an absolute dream."
Meanwhile, Dexter began her career in New York as part of the NBCUniversal Page Program working across shows such as "Saturday Night Live", "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and "Late Night with Seth Meyers". She then worked for "The Today Show" for several years before moving to an entertainment marketing agency where she worked with clients such as HBO Max and Paramount.
Giles Milburn commented: "With three major productions about to be released on Hulu and Paramount+, and with the insatiable demand for content resulting in so many MMA novels being optioned, there’s never been a better time to expand our Film and TV department, and Casey is the perfect person to complement Hannah’s amazing work!"
Dexter added: "I’m delighted to be joining MMA! The team is incredibly welcoming and there are so many exciting projects happening. I’m looking forward to diving into my new role, which perfectly combines my years in television with my love for books and writing, and contributing towards all the amazing work ahead!"
