Phoebe Morgan, Kerry Hudson and Daisy Buchanan are among those pitching in for the BookFuel auction, organised by author Vikki Patis to raise money for people struggling to pay their energy bills.
The auction, inspired by Authors for Grenfell, will run from 25th February to 7th March. Winners can make their donations on a JustGiving page with all the money going towards the charity National Energy Action.
Morgan, editorial director at HarperCollins, will offer a critique of the first 10,000 words and synopsis of a novel, while Hudson, author of bestselling memoir Lowborn (Chatto & Windus) will provide an hour’s telephone mentoring session. Buchanan will provide signed copies of Insatiable (Sphere) and Careering (Sphere) and the chance to appear as a guest on her podcast “You’re Booked”.
Currently 107 lots are listed on the website, which also includes a submission package critique by literary agent Emily Glenister from The D H H Literary Agency, two signed copies of Wahala by Nikki May (Doubleday) and editorial feedback by Hodder editor Bethany Wickington. There is also a chance to win a publishing package from Spellbound Books and a book box from Tea Leaves & Reads, including a signed copy of Ragdoll by Daniel Cole (Trapeze) plus lots of other goodies.
