Olivia Morris has been promoted by Ebury to the newly created role of Self hub publishing director, while the publisher has also made two new hires.
Morris joined Ebury in February 2019 from Orion Spring and Seven Dials as publishing director for Rider.
Of her appointment to lead the Self hub — one of four hubs at Ebury which span several imprints — publisher Andrew Goodfellow said: “At Rider Olivia has brought continued growth, a refreshed identity – ‘books with soul’ — and a sharp clarity to the publishing.
“What Olivia offers is exactly what the Self hub needs at this time of renewal – strategic insight and awareness, a gift for clear planning, highly focused book-by-book publishing, and an understated style that effortlessly brings people together around books with true passion.”
Holly Whitaker has also joined the team as senior commissioning editor and Anya Hayes as senior editor. Hayes has joined from Penguin Life, where she focused on parenting, wellbeing, spirituality and personal development, publishing authors including the psychotherapist Anna Mathur and coach and therapist Donna Lancaster. Whitaker was previously commissioning editor at Yellow Kite and in her new role will be focusing on platform and trend-led talent across health, personal development and spirituality.
Morris said: "I’m thrilled to be taking this step up and welcoming Holly and Anya to Ebury at an exciting time of growth for the Self hub. Both are immensely talented publishers; dynamic, curious creatives who embody our mission to help inspire and empower readers to live happy, healthy and more fulfilled lives. We can’t wait to get going."
