Rob Moss has announced he will be stepping down from his role as m.d. at online bookseller Wordery.
Moss succeeded Will Jones as m.d. in March 2017. He will leave Wordery in the new year and will be succeeded by Rob Johnson, currently director of operations, who is one of Wordery’s original founders.
In a statement Moss said: ‘’I leave the business in a strong position; with a great team of talented people, a very supportive shareholder and a clear plan for growth. The hard work to rebuild the supply chain over the past 18 months has paid off and has created a strong foundation for the future.”
Johnson added: "We are very grateful to Rob for his dedication and significant contribution to the Wordery business over the years, having led us through some challenging times; his consistency, professionalism and compassion has been crucial. We warmly wish him all the best for the future. As one of Wordery’s original founders, I’m delighted to be taking on the role of managing director. I’m looking forward to leading the Wordery team into what I believe is an exciting future of growth, in an industry that I’ve always loved.”
Wordery was launched as a joint venture by Bertrams in 2012, with the wholesaler taking full ownership in 2015. In May 2020, before the demise of Bertrams, it was bought by Elliott Advisors, the same company that owns Waterstones and Barnes & Noble.
