Michael Joseph will publish the new standalone novel from Jojo Moyes, The Giver of Stars, in October.
Publishing director Maxine Hitchcock bought UK and Commonwealth Rights from Sheila Crowley at Curtis Brown with the title scheduled for publication on 3rd October 2019 across hardback, e-book and audio formats.
Hitchcock said: “A love letter to the power of books and literature and their ability to bring us together, to educate, to inform and enlighten, to guide us, to deliver the truth, to save us from ourselves, The Giver of Stars is the book that Jojo Moyes was born to write. Inspired by a remarkable true story that captivated Jojo it features five incredible women who will prove to be every bit as beloved as Lou Clark, the unforgettable heroine of Me Before You.”
Moyes said of the novel: “I can honestly say I have never loved writing a book more, or been more inspired by my subject matter. I really hope everyone else enjoys it as much as I have.”
The author’s latest novel, www.thebookseller.com/news/still-jojo-moyes-swipes-top-spot-second-week-954791">Still Me (Penguin), recently sold the highest single-week volume for any title so far in 2019 and the biggest for a Mass Market Fiction title since Dan Brown’s Origin (Corgi) in July 2018.
