Muna Reyal has been appointed as head of editorial and production at Chelsea Green Publishing.
Returning to publishing after studying for a masters in Anthropology of Food at the School of Oriental & African Studies, Reyal was previously a food and lifestyle publisher and editorial director at Headline, BBC Books and Ebury. She has also edited three titles for Chelsea Green as a freelance editor.
At Chelsea Green, Reyal will oversee the UK editorial and production functions, working with m.d. Matt Haslum and colleagues Margo Baldwin and Rosie Baldwin, as well as the US team, on growing the UK list and its publishing strategies.
Commenting on the appointment, Reyal said: "I feel enormously privileged to be joining Chelsea Green’s groundbreaking practical, political and sustainable publishing. Having worked with Matt, Margo and Rosie over the past six months, I know how committed and passionate they are and that Chelsea Green is a visionary company with a publishing mission to be proud of. I am excited to be a part of it."
Haslum said: “It’s exciting to be expanding the UK team with such a strong, senior hire. We are developing a dynamic, distinct publishing programme, and we can’t wait for Muna to bring her big house experience and rigour, along with a passion for discovering new voices in the worlds of regenerative and sustainable living to Chelsea Green UK."
