Jenny Platt is moving from Michael Joseph to become Hodder & Stoughton’s senior publicity manager in a shake-up that also sees Rebecca Mundy promoted to publicity director.
Platt, who starts her new role on 16th June, is currently publicity manager at Michael Joseph. She began her career at the PRH imprint four years ago, managing campaigns for commercial fiction authors including The Chalk Man author C J Tudor, Gillian McAllister, Jane Fallon, Hilary Boyd and Graeme Simsion.
Her non-fiction campaigns have included The Salt Path by Raynor Winn, for which she was shortlisted for a PPC Annual Award, alongside titles by Nadiya Hussain, Amelia Freer and Lily Singh.
Platt said: “It has been a privilege to spend the past four years with Michael Joseph, and I will look back on my time there with great warmth and affection. I am absolutely delighted to now be embarking on this next chapter with the incredible team at Hodder & Stoughton.”

Hodder’s communications director, Eleni Lawrence, added: “Jenny instantly impressed us with her breadth of experience across commercial fiction and non-fiction publishing, from crime and women’s fiction to cookery stars like Jamie Oliver. She is a smart, tenacious and passionate publicist, and I can’t wait for her to join the team.”
Meanwhile, Hodder’s current senior publicity manager Mundy will be promoted to publicity director after six years with the firm, continuing to work across its non-fiction and fiction imprints. Her recent campaigns have included Holly Bourne’s first adult fiction outing How Do You Like Me Know? and the launch of lifestyle rising star Hazel Wallace’s The Food Medic.
Her appointment comes after it was announced Louise Swannell will leave in July to join Headline as its new publicity director.
Lawrence said: “Becca is a key member of Hodder’s award-winning publicity team and brings terrific energy and strategic thinking to her campaigns. I am delighted that she has been promoted to reflect her contribution to Hodder’s recent success and her exceptional author care.”
