The Muswell Hill Children’s Bookshop is being put up for sale.
The shop has been run by the Agnew family since 1994, when it was bought by Lesley and John Agnew. Daughter Kate Agnew took over the running of the shop in 2010.
She said the shop was “thriving”, but is being sold for family reasons. She added: “As a family, we’ve loved running the business for the past 20 years. It’s been a real privilege to do so, but now we’re looking to find a buyer who will take the bookshop forward for its next 20 years.”
The shop was named Walker Books Children’s Independent Shop of the Year at The Bookseller Retail Awards in 2005, and has been shortlisted for the prize on several occasions.
