Muswell Press is to launch a yearly anthology celebrating new queer writing from the around the world, following the success of its first edition of Queer Life, Queer Love in 2021.
The press released the first Queer Life, Queer Love in memory of publisher Sarah Beal’s trans daughter Lucy Reynolds, who died at the start of the first lockdown. Following its positive response from the international queer community, the decision has been made to make it an annual publication.
The second anthology will be published in May 2023, just ahead of Pride, including 30 winning submissions spanning all forms including fiction, poetry, non-fiction and flash-fiction. It will be edited by poet, writer and lecture Golnoosh Nour and Matt Bates, editor at large for the Muswell Press Queer list.
Submissions for the new anthology are now open. The editors are looking for writing that explores characters, stories and experiences beyond the mainstream, works that celebrate and express "the view from outside".
Entry is open to all writers. The deadline is 1st November, and winning authors will be notified in early December.
