Nadiya Hussain’s next cookery book, Nadiya Bakes, will be published by Michael Joseph in July to coincide with her upcoming BBC series.
World rights to Nadiya Bakes were bought by Ione Walder, editorial director for Michael Joseph from Anne Kibel at AK Artist Management. The book will be published on the 9th July 2020 to tie in with her new prime-time six-part series that will air on BBC Two, which will be broadcast later this year.
"Nadiya became a national treasure when she won 'The Great British Bake Off' in 2015, and since then she’s grown to be one of the UK’s most loved and successful chefs and writers," said the publisher. "And now, in the book that everyone’s been waiting for, Nadiya Hussain returns to her true love: baking. Nadiya Bakes is filled with over 100 must-try recipes, making it the ultimate baking cookbook. In true Nadiya fashion these bakes include the classics, and mouth-watering twists that will become your staples for every birthday party, afternoon treat, lunchbox snack, dessert and even dinner."
The book will feature cakes, biscuits, tarts and pies, “showstopping” desserts, breads and savouries, and 'no-bake' bakes. Recipes include Strawberry and Clotted Cream Shortcakes, Raspberry Amaretti Biscuits, Portuguese Custard Tarts, Honey Cake with a Salted Hazelnut Crumb, Cheats Sourdough, Spiced Squash Strudel among others.
Hussain said: "Nothing makes me happier than baking. I’m so excited to share my favourite recipes in this brand new cookbook with Michael Joseph, and I hope my cakes and bakes will help other people find some of that happiness too."
Walder said: "This is the book that so many people have been waiting for Nadiya to write, because, after all, baking is where her journey began. So I’m very excited to announce that it’s finally on its way. It promises to be an absolute beauty, full of unforgettable bakes and treats, including plenty of the Nadiya twists and flavour-combos we’ve all come to expect–and of course a massive side-helping of joy."
The former "Great British Bake Off" winner’s previous bestselling cookery titles include Time to Cook published last July, Nadiya’s Family Favourites, Nadiya’s British Food Adventure and Nadiya’s Kitchen (all published by Michael Joseph). She wrote a non-fiction book for Headline published last year, Finding My Voice, and she has written children’s books for Hachette Children’s Group.
