Natalie Christopher is joining the Hachette UK group rights team as head of media development on 6th January. She will succeed Lana Beckwith, who left the company in October.
Christopher arrives from Northbank Talent Management where she has been handling book-to-film rights and broadcast opportunities for two years.
Christopher will report to Rebecca Folland, Hachette UK’s group rights and audio director, and will be responsible for handling all book-to-film and TV rights deals across the adult trade divisions, excluding Bookouture.
Christopher said: "I am delighted to be joining Hachette in the new year. I love Hachette’s commitment to media rights as a core tenet of their business and am thrilled by the opportunity to work with their talented authors in bringing their titles to screen. I’ve had a wonderful time at Northbank but couldn’t be more excited to get started on this next chapter."
Folland said: "We are incredibly excited for Natalie to join us. She impressed everyone here with her energy, knowledge and experience, as well as her clear passion for both the book and film industries. The head of media role has become a key role here at Hachette UK and we know that Natalie has just the right combination of skills to further develop and build this business for us and our authors."
At Northbank, Christopher sold dramatic and documentary screen rights across fiction and non-fiction titles, in addition to handling screenwriting, podcasting and on-screen contributor deals. She has worked with studios, production companies and producers in the UK and globally, including Netflix, Sony Pictures, Hallmark Media and Passion Pictures.
