Crowdfunding publisher Unbound has announced the acquisition of award-winning independent publisher Neem Tree Press.
Neem Tree Press will become an imprint of Unbound and its chief executive, Archna Sharma, will take a seat on Unbound’s board of directors. She will continue to commission for Neem Tree Press in the US, where she is based.
Founded in 2017, Neem Tree Press publishes primarily fiction and young adult titles. It was shortlisted for the IPG’s Diversity and Inclusivity Award in 2023.
Several of its titles have won or been shortlisted for awards, including Belly Woman by Benjamin Black, which won the Moore Prize for human rights writing earlier this year. The Idle Stance of the Tippler Pigeon by Safinah Danish Elahi is currently shortlisted for the Asian Prize for Fiction 2024. While The Djinn’s Apple by Djamila Morani was awarded an English PEN Translates grant in 2021.
Unbound’s c.e.o Wil Harris, said: “We have been great admirers of the work that the team at Neem Tree Press have been doing since their launch onto the literary scene in 2017.”

Neem Tree Press titles will launch on Unbound from September onwards.
