David Hewson's novelisation of hit Danish TV series "The Killing", to be published by Macmillan on 24th May (£12.99) will contain "explosive" new plot twists, the publisher has revealed—including with the ending.
"David Hewson uses the amazingly brilliant and tense script by Soren Sveistrup as the basis for the novel," said Pan Macmillan fiction publisher Jeremy Trevathan. "That, of course, means there are some stuff you can do better in a novel than on a TV screen, such as characters' inner voices and thoughts. You also have more time to go into back story and resolve some of the fascinating conundrums that the series raised." He added: "We don't want to give too much away . . . But maybe Sara Lund isn't secure with the final result? Maybe she still feels they have the wrong perpetrator?"
One of the shoutlines for the advertising will be: "Think you know who the Killer is? Think again."
Trevathan said scriptwriter Sveistrup did not collaborate with Hewson in the writing of the novelisation, "but he most definitely has given his blessing to these new plot developments."
The book is being launched at Bristol crime convention CrimeFest and Sveistrup will appear with Hewson to discuss the book.
