Former Waterstones marketing manager Jon Woolcott has joined Stanfords Bookshop in London.
Woolcott - who left Waterstones in December - takes up the newly created role of buying and marketing director, with the buying and marketing teams reporting directly to him.
Stanfords has also hired two former Waterstones managers - Steve Chilton and Donald Kyle - as retail managers at the Long Acre store in Covent Garden.
Stanfords managing director Tony Maher said: “I am absolutely delighted to announce the appointments of Jon, Steve and Donald. They will be an invaluable addition to our already talented team – their experience and knowledge will be instrumental in helping to develop and fulfil our plans for the future.
"In the last year we have made enormous changes to the business and we continue to explore new opportunities through the introduction of new product ranges and by strengthening our brand.”
Woolcott said: “Stanfords is an extraordinary business with a tremendous heritage and a great future, so I’m really excited and proud to be part of it.”
