Granta's rights director Angela Rose leaves the publisher today (31st July), after 25 years with the company.
Rose joined Granta in 1995 as an office assistant, and been responsible for rights sales including for authors such as Diana Athill, Julian Baggini, Caspar Henderson, John Gray, Eleanor Catton and Han Kang. She has also headed up the translated editions of Granta magazine and the How to Read series, in addition to the company's recent expansion into the audio market.
Publishing director Bella Lacey said: "We will hugely miss Angela, who has been a valued colleague and friend for many years. She has played a key role in leading Granta’s rights team over the last quarter of a century, bringing a deep knowledge of the market and of our list, and always approaching her work with admirable astuteness and level-headedness. I want to thank her wholeheartedly for her commitment to our books and authors, for her guidance and for her expert contribution."
Acquisitions manager Isabella Deipiazzi will cover rights queries as acting rights manager for the present, with a new structure for the rights team to be announced in the autumn.
