Head of Zeus has appointed Kate Appleton from Midas PR as its new head of publicity.
Appleton, who joined on 1st June, was an account director on the Midas books team where she ran campaigns for Jess Phillips and Rose McGowan while overseeing literary accounts including the Swansea University Dylan Thomas Prize, Windham-Campbell Prizes, Essex Book Festival and London Book Fair.
She also delivered global press campaigns for Head of Zeus titles such as Oscar: A Life by Matthew Sturgis, The World Aflame by Dan Jones and Marina Amaral and No Modernism Without Lesbians by Diana Souhami.
Her appointment follows the arrival of 2019 Bookseller Rising Star Jessie Sullivan from Quarto as head of marketing in February.
Sales director Dan Groenewald said: “It's with great excitement that we welcome Jessie and Kate to the business. Both have already made invaluable contributions to our story and to have these two leaders and experts in their fields marks the start of the next phase for Head of Zeus.”
Nicolas Cheetham, c.e.o, added: “Jessie and Kate are two key additions to our business, and their expertise and energy will be integral to developing new markets and new partnerships to take HoZ over the £10m rubicon in 2021. Their effect on the business has been immediate with new records being set in both print and digital over the past two months.”
