Richard Armitage, star of Netflix hit “The Stranger”, will narrate the audiobook edition of His & Hers by Alice Feeney (HQ) alongside Stephanie Racine.
His & Hers, out on 28th May in audiobook, e-book and paperback, tells the story of DCI Jack Harper and BBC newsreader Anna Andrews whose paths cross for the first time following their divorce when a woman is found murdered in their hometown. Anna is reluctant to cover the case and Jack becomes suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation.
Armitage and Racine play Harper and Andrews, telling two sides of the same dark and twisted story. Due to the lockdown, Armitage had to record remotely from a newly created home studio with HQ’s audio editor, Rebecca Fortuin, producing via video call. Racine will also be remotely recording later this month with ID Audio.
Armitage said: “I loved reading Alice's book. She speaks to you very personally. Her characters are flawed, human and surprising, the story is like a labyrinth in which every character is following a path entwined with each other, but we don't know who will be left standing at the end. It's a compelling, unbearable, unthinkable plot and yet you can't look away. It's edge of the seat movie material.”
Racine added: “I am delighted to be narrating Alice’s latest chilling story. Her vivid characters are a pleasure to bring to life and I’m always gripped by the twists and turns along the way.”
The author's Sometimes I Lie (HQ), also narrated by Racine, was a finalist for Audible’s Best Crime Audiobook and was a top 10 bestseller.
Feeney said: “I was over the moon when my publishers suggested Richard Armitage might be the perfect Jack Harper. Stephanie Racine is an amazing actress and always a dream to work with. I’m very grateful to Stephanie, Richard, Rebecca, and Team HQ for managing to record and produce another brilliant audiobook in extremely challenging times.”
