Boldwood Books has launched an e-book collaboration with John Blake's Ad Lib, starting with a book that reveals all about the stars of hit Netflix series “Tiger King”.
Called White Hart Books, the venture aims to bring commercial non‐fiction “swiftly and nimbly” to e-book readers, with “true life” content ranging from biography and crime to sport and entertainment.
The digital-first venture is expected to publish 15 e-book titles in 2020 which will be available via Boldwood in all English‐language territories on one global publication date. As the list develops global digital audio formats will be added for some titles.
For its first release, White Hart has secured digital rights to Tiger Wars by Al Cimino, which tells the story behind the personalities in “Tiger King” and will be published on 18th June.
Amanda Ridout, founder and c.e.o. of Boldwood, said: ‘It is exciting to set up this association with the legendary non‐fiction publisher John Blake and to be able to bring his highly commercial content to readers all over the world. Boldwood’s sales and marketing expertise in the digital space will be harnessed to the cause of entertaining and informing consumers with real life stories, building on the success that we are currently having with our fiction list.”
Blake, who launched Ad Lib in January, added: adds: “It is just amazing to finally be teaming up with Amanda. I have watched in awe as Boldwood have whipped up a storm with a whole new way to publish and market fiction. Now we have the chance to create a powerful non‐fiction list together. This is a revolutionary approach to non‐fiction publishing. I am loving the speed and the excitement of working together.”
