Niki Chang is leaving The Good Literary Agency (TLGA) to join David Higham Associates (DHA) in April as a literary agent.
Chang started her career at Aitken Alexander in 2015 before moving to be an agent at the The Good Literary Agency when it opened in May 2018.
She will bring with a list of authors to David Higham including Rosanna Amaka, Raymond Antrobus, Emma Glass, Nikita Gill, Will Harris, Alex Holder, Sara Jafari, Hashi Mohamed, Leone Ross and Saba Sams.
Anthony Goff, m.d. of David Higham, said: “In a very short time Niki has built up an outstanding list of writers. This is evidence of her taste and the deals she has done for them shows her commercial nous. The fact that at TGLA she has been developing a list of diverse authors chimes with the importance we attach to extending the opportunities for underrepresented writers in this country through our DHA open days. We love her drive, her commitment to great writing and her business acumen and she will be a great addition to our powerful team”.
Chang added: “I am thrilled to be joining the brilliant team at DHA, an agency I have long admired. I have loved my time at TGLA and am proud of what we have achieved within such a short space of time. However, after two fantastic years, I am very excited to begin the next chapter of my career and to welcome my authors to such a prestigious agency."
Nikesh Shukla, co-founder of The Good Literary Agency, said Chang had been a “fantastic” agent during her time there. He said: “We are sad to see her go but are excited for the next stage in her career. We'll be cheering her and her authors joining DHA from the sidelines. We remain incredibly proud of all the work we've done together."
