Charkin and Marneur join Bonnier Books UK board

Richard Charkin (pictured) and Emilie Marneur have joined the Bonnier Books UK board as non-executive directors.

Bonnier Books UK said Charkin "brings a wealth of experience". Recently Bloomsbury's executive director, and now with his own indie venture Mensch, Charkin's extensive record of executive positions across the industry include as the former chief executive of Reed International Books and Macmillan Publishers Limited.

Marneur, who is currently at digital start-up Fable, specialises in digital publishing, content acquisition and development. She recently left Amazon after 15 years, during which she helped launch and grow Audible and Amazon Publishing.

Charkin said: "To take on a new role in the middle of our worst ever health crisis, and at the age of 71, is both challenging and enormously exciting. I’ve admired the Bonnier Group for many years in many contexts and am delighted to be joining this family business."

Charkin and Marneur join the Bonnier Books UK board following the departure of Magnus Janson and Eva Norén earlier in the year.
