Clare Bullock is to join Icon books as commissioning editor.
She makes the move from Ebury Press, where she has worked as an editor. She joins Icon in January 2021 and will commission narrative non-fiction, current affairs, history, smart thinking, nature writing, psychology and philosophy and music.
Duncan Heath, publisher and editorial director, said: "I am delighted to welcome Clare to Icon Books, where I’m sure she will play a key role in our commissioning of new work as we expand following our acquisition by Jonathan Ball earlier in 2020. Her excellent background at Ebury Press and Jonathan Cape shows that she has a real flair for picking commercial but high-quality non-fiction. We’re looking forward to welcoming her to the team."
Bullock said: "I have had an incredibly happy few years at Ebury, working with some of the cleverest, kindest and most talented people in the business. While I am sad to leave them behind, the opportunity to join Icon at such an exciting time for the company was irresistible. I am greatly looking forward to working with Duncan and the wider team to publish original, intelligent and successful non-fiction."
