Liverpool festival Writing on the Wall is going virtual this year, with a line-up including former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn (pictured).
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the festival's 2020 edition had looked precarious due to the insecurity caused by the pandemic, but it will now be launched entirely online.
The month-long festival will feature over 20 events, including talks and author interaction with celebrity guests. Also on this year's line-up areTrainspotting author Irvine Welsh, BBC Radio 6 DJ Stuart Maconie and drag artist Glamrou.
Festival co-director Mike Morris said: “After having to collapse our annual live festival as a result of the coronavirus, we have worked around the clock to ensure we will still be able to bring the array of incredible international, national and local guests which we have lined up this year, to our thousands of fans.
“We were determined we would not allow the festival to collapse in our 20th year.”
The event is free, and is being streamed live via the WotW facebook page from this week.
