Laurence King Publishing (LKP) has launched a competition for children to nominate a keyworker they would like illustrator Jason Ford to draw as a superhero.
The initiative, which will run across LKP’s and Jason Ford’s social media accounts, will ask families to nominate a key worker who they admire or are close to, to be illustrated by Ford in his classic superhero style.
Five nominated key workers will be chosen by the The Super Book for Superheroes (Laurence King) artist to receive a bespoke portrait and an LKP voucher.
Ford said: “I decided to take part in this campaign so that I can show, in my way, the appreciation and gratitude that I, and I’m sure the whole country, feel towards the people that are working hard and risking their own lives to save ours.”
Parents and children can nominate their key workers by emailing marketing@laurenceking.com explaining the reason behind their nomination along with an image of their chosen person. Details for the competition and how to enter will be posted across LKP’s Twitter and Instagram accounts with #KeyWorkerSuperhero.
The competition will run from 29th April to 8th May, and LKP will be announcing the winning entries on 11th May.
