Katie Bond is departing her role as publisher at the National Trust to become publisher at The Quarto Group's Aurum imprint.
The Aurum imprint was reinstated at Quarto in January, as was Frances Lincoln. Aurum will concentrate on narrative non-fiction publishing in biography, memoirs, travel, sport, history, popular science and popular culture.
Quarto c.e.o. Polly Powell said: “I have always been impressed with Katie’s enthusiasm and commitment to championing great authors and their books. Our paths crossed both at the National Trust and through her involvement in the Wainwright Prize. She has a passion for connecting books with readers and I’m delighted to welcome her to Aurum.”
Quarto's group publisher Richard Green added: "We are thrilled to welcome a publisher of Katie’s calibre to Quarto. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise in narrative non-fiction publishing, and her plans to reinvigorate the highly-regarded Aurum list are genuinely exciting."
Bond said: “I am excited to be joining Polly, Richard and the dynamic team at The Quarto Group to discover, nurture and champion the next generation of Aurum authors. After six happy and stimulating years growing the National Trust list it’s thrilling to be back in trade publishing, commissioning the narrative non-fiction I love.”
