ZunTold, an independent publisher for children and young people based in Manchester, is launching online platform ZunTold Reads on Youtube.
The platform, which will launch on Monday 4th May, aims to provide engaging educational resources for children and young people during the coronavirus lockdown.
The publisher is focusing on the importance of mental health and wellbeing on the channel with a Fiction as Therapy series. As part of this, Sam Pollen will appear on Thursday evenings with his book The Year I Didn't Eat.
Founder Elaine Bousfield, who will be reading from ZunTold's titles every Friday at 10 a.m., commented: "We’ll be bringing exclusive content to our loyal readership, as well as hopefully a new and growing audience new to our books. Mental health and wellbeing is something close to our hearts at ZunTold, as seen with our Fiction as Therapy tranche, and so we felt that building a platform where people can escape, even if just for a chapter, was really important."
Other authors lined up are Ruth Estevez with Jiddy Vardy (Mondays, 5 p.m.), Kate Wiseman with Gangster School (Tuesdays, 10 a.m.) and Miriam Halahmy with Always Here For You (Wednesdays, 5 p.m.). Each week, viewers will be able to delve into the backgrounds of the books, take part in interactive Q&As and view regular chapter readings.
