Emilie Marneur, formerly of Amazon Publishing and Audible, is joining Bonnier Books UK as digital and business development director and will launch a digital-first imprint.
Marneur, currently chief content officer at digital start-up Fable, joins this November after already being appointed non-executive director to Bonnier's board. She will be responsible for building and growing the firm's strategic digital focus and launching a digital-first imprint.
In her 15-year Amazon career, she helped set up and grow Audible from launch in 2005, managing the company’s UK content acquisition and publishing strategy. She then went on to launch and lead Amazon Publishing UK in 2013. Marneur was responsible for publishing authors including Mark Edwards, Nick Spalding, John Marrs and Amanda Prowse.
Perminder Mann, Bonnier Books UK c.e.o., said: “Emilie has made a huge impact in her short time as a non-executive director and after following her progress for a number of years, I’m over the moon that we’ve been able to bring her onto the team on a full-time permanent basis. I couldn’t think of a better person to help us strengthen and grow our digital offerings.”
Marneur said: “I’ve been hugely inspired by Bonnier Books UK’s entrepreneurial spirit, ambitions for growth, and progressiveness, and couldn’t think of a better place to be. I’m very excited to be working with the leadership team to grow the company’s digital presence and revenues, and can’t wait to, once again, build a list of talented authors and bestselling books that will delight readers.”
