FMcM's Annabel Robinson is joining Welbeck Publishing as publicity director with responsibility for all adult PR campaigns and corporate communications.
Robinson, who arrives on 26th October, is currently communications director at FMcM where she has worked with authors Marian Keyes and Ruby Wax as well as helping to break out debut talent such as Graeme Simsion’s The Rosie Project (Penguin) and Maestra by L S Hilton (Zaffre). She has also managed campaigns across a range of industry events and prizes including the Rathbones Folio Prize, the British Book Awards, World Book Day and National Poetry Day.
She will report to sales, marketing and publicity director James Horobin, who said: “Having worked together on a number of freelance agency campaigns in the past, I have always been massively impressed with Annabel’s brilliant work. Her signature campaigns are second to none and authors across the board always feel in good hands. The whole team is thrilled Annabel is coming in-house and we’re really looking forward to working together."
Robinson added: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Welbeck at this very exciting time for the business. With its energy and ambitions for growth and the opportunity of devising campaigns and building author brands across such a brilliant list, it was a challenge I couldn’t resist. I’m really looking forward to coming in-house and working alongside James and the exceptional team; as well as playing my part in making Welbeck one of the most successful and dynamic publishers in the industry.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Fiona McMorrough and my colleagues at FMcM for their continued support over many years. I feel incredibly privileged to have had the opportunity of working with the best and most talented names in the industry. I will miss the FMcM team, my authors and clients hugely.”
